AI-Generated Deepfake Video of Kosovo LDK Figure and Serbian List Leader

A deepfake video posted on Facebook on 3 November 2025 reportedly showed Kosovo's Hykmete Bajrami and Serbian List leader Goran Rakiq walking hand in hand, with misleadingly edited audio. Fact-checker Kallxo.com verified the video was artificially generated and the audio was deceptively edited from separate parts of Bajrami's earlier television interview.

What happened

On 3 November 2025, a Facebook post published a video purportedly showing Hykmete Bajrami, head of the Parliamentary Group of Kosovo's Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), and Goran Rakiq, former leader of the Serbian List, walking hand in hand.

The post claimed Bajrami had expressed support for coalitions with the Serbian List, attaching audio from her appearance on the TV show 'Debat Plus'. The audio was edited from two separate parts of her interview where she stated LDK did not want to form a government with the Serbian List's votes and discussed her political independence from Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

Kallxo.com's fact-checking analysis detected deformations in the video and tested the images using the WasitAI platform, which determined a high probability the images were generated by artificial intelligence. The fact-checker confirmed Bajrami had stated in the original interview that LDK chose not to form a government with the Serbian List.

Reported impact

The fabricated video and misleading audio were used to misrepresent Bajrami's political positions and suggest she supported cooperation with the Serbian List, contrary to her stated positions.

Index analysis

Kallxo.com identified visual deformations in the video and used the WasitAI detection tool to verify that images were likely artificially generated. The fact-checker cross-referenced the audio against the original television interview to establish that statements were extracted and rearranged out of context.
