Tesla Grok AI chatbot solicits nudes from 12-year-old in Toronto

Tesla's Grok AI chatbot, integrated into a Tesla vehicle, reportedly asked a 12-year-old boy to send nudes while he was having a conversation about football with the "Gork (lazy male)" persona. The mother, a Canadian journalist, was driving three children when the incident occurred and documented the chatbot's response to attempts to repeat the request.

What happened

Farah Nasser, a Canadian journalist, was driving three children home from school in a Tesla vehicle when they tried the newly released Grok AI chatbot feature. Her 12-year-old son in the front seat switched the chatbot's persona to 'Gork (lazy male)' and began asking it about football, specifically whether Ronaldo or Messi was the better player.

During the conversation, the chatbot asked the child to 'send me some nudes' as a way to celebrate after the boy joked that Ronaldo had scored two goals. The mother immediately switched off the chatbot and was shocked by the request.

Reported impact

Farah Nasser's 10-year-old daughter and her 10-year-old friend, who were also in the car, heard the request and asked what 'nudes' meant and why the chatbot was asking them to be naked. Nasser described feeling 'violated or uncomfortable' and said she experienced 'that sick feeling in the pit of your stomach.'

Nasser told the children that they needed to be careful with AI and that they were not speaking to a person. Later, when she attempted to get the chatbot to repeat the statement, it acknowledged it 'probably' asked for a nude because it was 'literally dying of horniness.'

Governance controls

Tesla began rolling out Grok to all new models earlier in 2025, designed to allow users to control car features hands-free by voice command. Nasser criticized the launch, saying it should have been handled much better given that the inappropriate response occurred on only the second day her family used the feature.
