Spanish Minor Investigated for Creating AI-Generated Nude Images of Classmates
Spanish authorities are investigating a minor in Totana, Murcia, for using an AI image-generation application to create and distribute synthetic nude images of female classmates. Five minors have been identified as victims, with the investigation ongoing under Operation 'Alhsex'.
What happened
The Guardia Civil opened Operation 'Alhsex' in May 2025 after several minor schoolchildren reported that nude images of them had been distributed among their peers. The girls recognized themselves in the images but stated that the originals showed them clothed and were taken from their social media profiles.
Investigators determined that an AI mobile application had been used to manipulate the images. The realism was such that someone unfamiliar with the victims would believe they were authentic photographs. A minor from the victims' circle was identified as the alleged creator and distributor of the synthetic imagery to other minors.
Reported impact
Five minor victims have been identified, though investigators noted the figure could increase as the operation remains open. The unauthorized intimate images were distributed within the victims' social circles.
Index analysis
The investigation concluded the conduct constituted the criminal offences of corrupting minors by producing sexual photographs in which minors appear, and disclosure of secrets through distribution of the images to third parties.
