Former sports director caught in AI sting by vigilante streamer in France
A French vigilante streamer used AI deepfake filters to impersonate a young teenager and sting a 66-year-old former sports official on live video for soliciting a minor. The suspect turned himself in to police and was charged with sexual propositions to a minor.
What happened
A 21-year-old streamer called Finnyzyy used AI-generated deepfake filters to appear as a 13-14 year old girl during a live stream on Twitch on 11 May 2026, broadcasting to around 40,000 viewers. The streamer engaged in conversation with Dominique B., a 66-year-old former sports teacher and director of school sports in Haute-Saône, who made repeated sexual advances to what he believed was a young adolescent girl. The exchange was recorded and shared widely on social media, then reported to the Pharos platform, prompting police attention.
Reported impact
The suspect presented himself to Vesoul police on 12 May 2026 and was placed in custody. He was placed in provisional detention and charged, according to the Vesoul prosecutor Arnaud Grécourt. The charges included sexual propositions made to a minor by an adult and solicitation of a minor to transmit pornographic images.
