Two 16-year-old boys in Athens were arrested on 21 February 2025 for using AI image generation software to create fake nude or semi-nude photographs of female classmates. They obtained original images from social media platforms or received them without consent, then processed them through an AI program to display the subjects as nude or semi-nude.
The boys shared the manipulated images online and reportedly sold them for 100 euros each. A falling-out between the two led one boy to inform the targeted girls about the images. Police seized their mobile phones for digital forensic analysis.

A female student reported that approximately 5,000 photographs and 500 videos of classmates had been created and distributed, with the images posted to websites and sent to friends.
