Pennsylvania teens sentenced for AI-generated fake nude images of classmates
Two Pennsylvania teenagers pleaded guilty to creating approximately 350 AI-generated fake nude images of at least 59 female classmates in 2023-2024 by morphing their photos with adult sexual imagery. A juvenile court judge sentenced the 14-year-old boys to probation, community service, and restitution, and victims reported significant psychological harm including anxiety, trauma, and difficulty coping with the images' existence.
What happened
Two Pennsylvania teenagers, age 14 at the time, created approximately 350 fake nude images of at least 59 female classmates in 2023 and 2024 using artificial intelligence to morph photos culled from school photos, yearbooks, Instagram, TikTok and FaceTime chats with images of nude adults.
The boys pleaded guilty in March 2026 to 59 felony counts of sexual abuse of children and related charges. Judge Leonard Brown sentenced them to six months of probation, 60 hours of community service each, and ordered them to pay $12,000 to victims for counseling costs. The boys were barred from contact with victims.
Reported impact
Victims reported anxiety, depression, feelings of helplessness, and devastation from the manufactured photos. One victim said the images 'destroyed my innocence.' Victims described anxiety attacks, loss of trust, problems focusing on schoolwork, and fear that the images may surface in unexpected ways.
One victim said she 'needed trauma therapy to even walk around my neighborhood.' Another victim described 'how excruciating it is to bring these feelings up again and again,' while another reported that all of her friends transferred schools. Many victims and their families provided impact statements during sentencing.
Governance controls
The case was prosecuted by the Pennsylvania Attorney General, and juvenile court proceedings were opened to the public, unusually allowing the community to be seen and heard.
