Geely Recalls 93,000 Vehicles Over LiDAR Power Supply Defect
Geely recalled approximately 93,000 vehicles across multiple models due to a power supply defect in LiDAR sensors supplied by Suteng Juchuang that could cause driver assistance systems to fail under extreme conditions. The defect originated from supplier manufacturing process fluctuations and was discovered after complaints of LiDAR malfunctions began appearing in June 2026.
What happened
On August 22, 2026, China's State Administration for Market Regulation announced that Zhejiang Geely Automobile would recall 74,037 vehicles of Lynk & Co 900, Lynk & Co 10 EM-P, Lynk & Co 07 and Lynk & Co 08 produced between January 8, 2025 and December 10, 2025 due to a defective power supply IC in the LiDAR sensor supplied by Suteng Juchuang.
On the same day, Geely announced a separate recall of 18,878 Galaxy M9 vehicles produced between July 20, 2025 and October 26, 2025, totaling approximately 93,000 vehicles across two recalls, caused by the same LiDAR power supply IC defect.
The defect, stemming from supplier process fluctuations, could damage the internal power IC of the LiDAR, causing the advanced driver assistance function to fail to identify, warn of, or respond to objects, or to deactivate entirely. Geely's remedy is free replacement of the LiDAR unit for affected vehicles.
Reported impact
Starting in June 2026, multiple complaints appeared on online platforms reporting LiDAR function failure warnings in Lynk & Co 900, Lynk & Co 10 EM-P and Lynk & Co 08 vehicles, with drivers reporting that high-level automated driving assistance functions were disabled when the malfunction occurred during driving or startup.
Vehicle owners stated that failures occurred without prior collision, water damage, or visible external damage, and that service personnel could not explain the root cause of the internal LiDAR damage.
