Deepfake porn site founder David Do exposed in documentary
A Toronto pharmacist named David Do was exposed as the founder of Mr Deepfakes, a website that allowed users to create non-consensual deepfake pornography targeting thousands of victims. Tech journalist Laurie Segall and Paris Hilton revealed his identity in a documentary after a years-long investigation.
What happened
David Do, a 36-year-old pharmacist in Toronto, operated Mr Deepfakes, a website that enabled users to create non-consensual deepfake pornography using images of celebrities, friends, family and random internet photos.
The site, which had over 17 million monthly users at its peak, operated for seven years before shutting down in 2025, exploiting legal loopholes with zero accountability.
Journalist Laurie Segall and Paris Hilton exposed Do's identity in a 14-part TikTok documentary series in June 2026 after Segall's years-long investigation. Do refused to answer Segall's questions when confronted.
Reported impact
Thousands of unsuspecting victims had non-consensual deepfake pornography created and shared using their images.
Segall reported speaking to victims who expressed suicidal ideation.
Index analysis
Segall said the site "can turn young boys into a person who thinks it's OK to digitally undress someone" and described the operation as "incredibly dystopian."
