What happened

On 16 May 2026, a Facebook page published an image allegedly showing Sami Lushtaku, mayor of Skenderaj, and Milan Radoičić, a suspect in a terrorist attack in Banjska, travelling together in a luxury vehicle. The image was captioned 'Sami Serbia with Radojqiqin.'

Krypometër analysed the image and tested it using HiveModeration, an AI detection platform. The results confirmed the photograph was generated using artificial intelligence.

Reported impact

The fabricated images circulated following an incident on 14 May 2026 in which Hysni Mehani, head of LVV in Skenderaj, claimed he was physically attacked by Lushtaku. The timing and content of the AI-generated images appeared designed to damage Lushtaku's reputation during this dispute.

Index analysis

The images were republished by multiple Facebook accounts. Krypometër identified artificial intelligence elements in the photograph, confirmed through HiveModeration testing.
